APOTHEOSIS WARMACHINE PDF

Thunderhead Called the most sophisticated warjack ever built by human hands, the Thunderhead is powered not from steam, but rather, by the galvanic energy generated by its massive storm chamber. In battle, a pair of enormous lighting coils channels electricity into devastating pulses. A holy vessel of the Creator, the Avatar contains no cortex, nor does it require the focus of a warcaster. Rather, it generates its own focus, the walking incarnation of the Lawgiver. Where the Avatar treads, the faithless fall.

Behemoth Standing nearly 17 feet high and carrying some of the most destructive weapons available to the Motherland, the Behemoth exemplifies the best qualities of Khadoran warjack design: extremely heavy armor, a devastating array of weapons, and immense strength. Each of its mighty fists is armed with integral explosive charges that deliver armor-penetrating blasts. The Behemoth is as much a symbol to the Khadoran people of their power and imminent victory as it is a force of destruction to all who stand against them.

Deathjack For more than two hundred years the necromechanikal horror called the Deathack has haunted the wilds of western Immoren. Its considerable array of necromantic and mechanikal abilities makes it a potent addition to the armies of Cryx. A savage intellect resides in its Skulls of Hate, the infernal lanterns mounted on its shoulders that continuously utter dire admonitions and cast terrifying spells. Capable of rendering its form whole again after any battle, the Skulls of Hate make the machine seemingly immortal, repeatedly restoring it so that the Deathjack may continue its merciless slaughter.

Striking without warning, the Deathjack voraciously devours souls and leaves nothing but death and destruction in its tracks, eagerly carrying out the dark imperatives of the Dragon Lord.

Main article: Greek hero cult From at least the Geometric period of the ninth century BC, the long-deceased heroes linked with founding myths of Greek sites were accorded chthonic rites in their heroon , or "hero-temple". A heroic cult status similar to apotheosis was also an honour given to a few revered artists of the distant past, notably Homer. Archaic and Classical Greek hero-cults became primarily civic, extended from their familial origins, in the sixth century; by the fifth century none of the worshipers based their authority by tracing descent back to the hero, with the exception of some families who inherited particular priestly cults, such as the Eumolpides descended from Eumolpus of the Eleusinian mysteries , and some inherited priesthoods at oracle sites. The Greek hero cults can be distinguished on the other hand from the Roman cult of dead emperors , because the hero was not thought of as having ascended to Olympus or become a god: he was beneath the earth, and his power purely local. For this reason, hero cults were chthonic in nature, and their rituals more closely resembled those for Hecate and Persephone than those for Zeus and Apollo. Two exceptions were Heracles and Asclepius , who might be honoured as either gods or heroes, sometimes by chthonic night-time rites and sacrifice on the following day. See Euhemerism.

WARJACKS OF APOTHEOSIS

They are several times more durable and powerful than normal troops, but are far more costly. Warcasters are the pivotal characters of the game. Warcasters are powerful generals and spellcasters who have learned to control warjacks. Each warcaster has a special feat that can be used once per battle; their effects range from subtle to explosive and can be enough to change the tide of battle. In addition to warcasters and warjacks, armies can field supporting infantry troops of many varieties, powerful machines of war called battle engines, durable structures that support their infantry troops, and even more massive versions of warjacks known as colossals. Some are infantry or gunners, while others have more specialized roles, from warjack repairmen to "journeyman" warcasters - novice versions of the models that command armies.
